erika rodriguez

An aspiring producer who hails from the southwest side of Chicago. Her recent work is focused on the formulaic structures that exist within film/television and how they can be warped to tell stories in innovative and compelling ways.

Erika is a recent graduate of Northwestern University with degrees in Radio/Television/Film, English Literature and Design Engineering. She is currently the 2021 Creative Inclusion Intern with IFA Chicago, and has previously worked for Small Forces Productions, Cards Against Humanity, and even Shedd Aquarium.

She takes great joy in using structures and television formulas in ways that they weren't intended to be used. Much of her work revolves around taking emergent unintentional aesthetics from things that interest her, then appropriating them and applying them in conscious ways in her own films.

In her spare time, she enjoys eating gluten-free snacks and telling people about about her time spent working as a golf caddie, which landed her a full ride scholarship to Northwestern University through the Chick Evans Scholarship. She also enjoys filling out paperwork and excel spreadsheets.
